What the Heck is Physical Therapy for Trans People?

We all understand that physical therapy helps when someone sprains an ankle or has a sports injury. However, many people aren't aware of the important role physical therapy plays in helping those who are medically or surgically transitioning. Having a physical therapist on your team allows patients to prepare for surgery and more safely embody their gender, such as with better chest binding practices or tucking techniques.

Dr. Darshana Naik of @pelvicptgyan interviewed Dr. Katie McGee of B3 Physical Therapy to help patients understand how a physical therapist can help with their medical journey, what to look for in a medical provider, what to expect when meeting with a physical therapist, and learn more about physical therapy for trans and gender diverse people. This is a great watch whether you are trans or gender diverse yourself, or looking to help a friend or family member.
